On our May 2016 Disneyland vacation, we decided to stay off property over at the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance.  The Courtyard is a Marriott property and is located at 1420 South Harbor Blvd.  This is directly across the street from the Disneyland park.

We stayed here for 5 nights in mid-May with a party size of 5.  We had 2 adults, and 3 children (ages 14, 9, 8).

Our decision to stay here was based on 3 main factors:
1 – Proximity to the parks.  It was an easy 10-minute walk for our family into the parks every day.  We even came back for afternoon breaks in the pool on most afternoons.  Their website claims a 5-minute walk, but you would have to be walking with extreme purpose.

2 – Surfside Waterpark is the name of their pool area.  It has 2 large slides, a kids splash pad with a couple of smaller slides, a drench bucket, kiddie pool, regular pool, and a large hot tub.  The pool area was a huge hit with my family, even with the 14-year-old in our group who loved the 2 larger slides.  I wish we would have planned one complete rest day just to spend here at the pool.

3 – Room configuration.  All of the rooms here sleep at least 6.  We booked and stayed in the cheapest room category.  The room has 2 queen beds, and a set of bunk beds.  I even slept on the bottom bunk one night and it was very comfortable.  Another nice thing about the rooms is the bathroom setup.  You walk into a double sink vanity and a full bathtub and shower.  Next, there is a door with the toilet and a shower with no tub.  This makes it great to have 2 people getting showers at the same time.  The room was large and we never felt crowded.  Also, the room has a mini-fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine!

For dining at the resort, the hotel has a Starbucks, The Bistro, and The Marketplace to grab some food.  I can’t really speak to any of this since we never ate here.  Not even for coffee in the morning.

In the parking lot is Mimi’s Café and we did eat here for breakfast and had a great meal.  Literally, next door is a Panera and next to that is a McDonald’s.  All on your stroll to and from the park each day.  We grabbed McDonald’s a couple of times.

We loved our stay here at the resort.  The staff was excellent.  The rooms were clean and roomy.  My only complaint is that I wish in the bathroom there was a  string to hang swimsuits up to dry.  Literally my only complaint.
