I love reading trip reports between visits to Walt Disney World because it helps the place I love so dear seem not so far away. Hopefully, you will enjoy reading about our trip. As always the trip was a magical vacation and we can’t wait to go back.
The format for the detailed posts will be topical rather than chronological to help people find the topic that interests them the most.
Here is some of what you will read about in the upcoming weeks:
· 2 Resorts. Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village and Wilderness Lodge
· Traveling with extended family – we had our family of 4 plus my mom, sister, and niece (15) meet us for the vacation.
· Using transportation services: Magical Express, Tiffany Towncars (picked up extended family from Sanford Airport), taking a cab between resorts, and transportation to and from the parks.
· Renting a stroller from Orlando Stroller Rental.
· Having groceries delivered by WeGoShop.
· Fun inside and outside the theme parks: Summer Frozen Fun Package at Hollywood Studios, Parasailing, and much more!
Here is the chronological overview so you can get a feel for the overall trip.
Saturday, July 26th – Fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO) in the morning. Lunch at Sanaa then lounged around the pool until our groceries were delivered around 2:30pm. We then just let the boys watch cartoons in the lobby until our room was ready a little after 3pm. Our extended family didn’t arrive until around 11pm.
Sunday – Hollywood Studios with the Frozen Summer Fun Package
Monday – the Magic Kingdom in the morning and an attempt at parasailing that was canceled due to high winds. Swim break in the afternoon before heading back to the park that evening. Decided to skip the evening parade and fireworks to get in more rides! This was an awesome plan since we got many attractions done.
Tuesday – EPCOT – Did I mention summer is hot! We left the park at 4pm and went back to the hotel to go swimming. The boys liked that so much more than being in the park.
Wednesday – Parasailing in the morning, Downtown Disney in the afternoon, and the Magic Kingdom that evening. We did watch the Main Street Electrical Parade, but skipped the fireworks to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad since my youngest son needed to “GO FAST”.
Thursday – the Animal Kingdom until 2pm. We were tired and hot. The trees seem to block all the wind. It was miserable. We ate dinner at Boma then back to the pool for an evening swim.
Friday – Said goodbye to our family and we moved over to Wilderness Lodge for the last night of our trip. Spent the afternoon at Magic Kingdom meeting princesses and then back for an evening swim.
Saturday – Checked out of our hotel. Ate a late breakfast at Whispering Canyon Café and then spent the afternoon roaming around Fort Wilderness. My youngest son rode a pony ride for $5 (best value of the trip). My 8-year-old was too tall and couldn’t get a pony ride. You have to be less than 48 inches. We caught Magical Express at 2pm for the flight home.
